Port Mac Ironman Over and Out

What a fun and jam packed weekend for Rebound and the athletes that raced the 70.3 and Ironman at Port Macquarie. The sad news is that it flew by way too quick! Not only is it incredibly thrilling racing and pushing individual limits, it is even more special to share the experience with other human beings. We had a range of athletes competing from those who it was their first time racing a 70.3 distance all the way up to our professional athlete and Head Coach.

Lets rewind a little….. the Rebound Crew decided to get to Port Mac a few days in advance to be able to take in the beautiful coastal location, as well to get a few sessions in on the course. Both the 70.3 and the Ironman are hard and technical courses and therefore swimming, riding and running sections of the course prior is highly valuable (leaves for no surprises race day). The team spent their evenings watching global races including the PTO European Open and sharing skincare tips with each other 😉 (if you know, you know).

Apart from all the laughs we had, we also had some stand out results across the races:

  • First female to cross the line in the 70.3- Rebound Athlete Kat
  • 2nd place 18-24 in the 70.3- Rebound Athlete Eliza
  • 3rd place 30-35 in the Ironman- Rebound Athlete Kent
  • AND two Rebound Athletes completed their first 70.3 - Congrats Phoenix and Meghan

There are so many positives to take away from this weekend and the good news is the race season is only just heating up.

What’s coming up:

  • Cairns 70.3 and Ironman (June)
  • Gold Coast Marathon Festival (July)
  • Sunshine Coast 70.3 (September)
  • Noosa Triathlon (November)
  • Kingscliff Triathlon (November)
